Slaughterhouse insolvent: 39 employees affected

Insolvency proceedings have been opened for Huber Tirol GmbH, which operates an EU slaughterhouse in St. Johann in Tirol (Kitzbühel district), at the Innsbruck regional court. This was reported by the credit protection association KSV1870 on Tuesday. 39 employees are affected.

"According to the debtor's own statement, the amount of outstanding liabilities is around 7.4 million euros," said the credit protection association. 

Reasons for bankruptcy still unclear
No verified information is currently available on the reasons for this insolvency. "We will investigate these causes in cooperation with the insolvency administration. The application to open insolvency proceedings was submitted to the court by the debtor," the statement continues.

Survival of the business possible?
A decision on the possible continuation of the business, which was founded in 1999, is to be made in the near future. "In particular, it remains to be seen whether the debtor is in a position to demonstrate in a comprehensible manner that a continuation can stand on economically sound foundations," says KSV1870. 39 employees are affected.
