OpenAI used unauthorized protected content for AI

OpenAI has violated laws in the development of its artificial intelligence ChatGPT. The software company used copyrighted content from the internet without permission to train the chatbot, said former OpenAI programmer Suchir Balaji.

For this reason and because he considered AI to be harmful to society, he left OpenAI last August, Balaji said in an article published in the New York Times on Wednesday.

Since the release of ChatGPT almost two years ago, numerous artists, publishers and companies have sued OpenAI and other AI developers for alleged copyright infringements. The New York Times is one of the plaintiffs.
