Trio caught red-handed during bike theft

Thanks to an attentive passer-by, a trio was caught red-handed stealing a bicycle in the Tyrolean silver town of Schwaz on Tuesday evening. The two men and the woman were reported to the police. The suspects had struck at the train station in Hall. 

The passer-by raised the alarm shortly after 10 p.m. by calling the emergency services. "He stated that he had noticed three suspicious people looking at bicycles at the train station in Schwaz," said the investigators. A police patrol immediately set off.

Further investigations revealed that the three suspects had previously stolen the bicycle at the train station in Hall.

On the scene, the officers came across a local man (24), a German (21) and a local woman (21). And in the 24-year-old's moped car, the police discovered a mountain bike locked with a bicycle lock with a removed front wheel. "Further investigations revealed that the three suspects had previously stolen the bike at the train station in Hall."

All three will be charged on suspicion of theft. The German is also facing a charge of driving without a license.
