Two speeders were caught by the police on Tuesday afternoon in East Tyrol. Within less than 20 minutes, an Austrian (64) and an Italian (62) were caught speeding at 156 and 158 km/h respectively.

Law enforcement officers carried out speed measurements on the Felbertauernstraße in the municipality of St. Johann im Walde on Tuesday afternoon. Shortly after 3.40 pm, a 64-year-old Austrian was finally stopped at 156 km/h instead of the permitted 100 km/h.

Italian was even faster
Shortly before 4 p.m., the officers were astonished when a 62-year-old Italian exceeded the speed of the local driver by two km/h.

Driving license confiscated
For the two men, it was "all over" for the time being. "Their driving licenses were temporarily confiscated and they will be reported to the district administrative authority," said the police.
