When Petra was seriously ill, she could always rely on her son: "The nomination is my thank you for that!"

"He sensed that I wasn't feeling well," says Petra Kobald, referring to the time when she became seriously ill: "Nico was there for me, he saved my life," the St. Veiter native is certain.

"That time wasn't easy," agrees 19-year-old Nico with his mother: "But for me it was always a matter of course," says the conscript, who is also a firefighter.

Although her son doesn't like to be in the limelight, Petra signed him up for the "Krone" heart person campaign simply to say thank you! "Nico has always helped everyone!".

That's why the 19-year-old completed an internship at Marienhof in Maria Saal: "I worked with people with severe disabilities there," he says. He was honored in the "Under 25" category.
