Salzburg's retirement homes have been worse off than ever since the Senecura scandal. Now an inspection report has emerged that shows: The situation is also scandalous in the city's retirement homes. The "Krone" has excerpts from an inspection report.

The municipal inspection office scrutinized the economic and personnel situation between 2016 and 2022. The result: a smorgasbord of grievances. Incorrect expenditure postings. A reduction in the number of beds instead of expansion. Excessive alcohol purchases in two homes. A steady reduction in the number of qualified nurses.

And quite curiously, a savings book with the surplus income from an event was neither included in the accounts nor could it be found in the city treasury. The list is long. The report runs to 100 pages.
