On Sunday evening, a woodshed went up in flames in the Hötting district of Innsbruck. The 85-year-old owner injured himself while trying to put out the fire. According to initial police investigations, the fire may have been started by a devil.

The fire broke out in the woodshed in Schießstandgasse in Innsbruck-Hötting shortly after 9.30 p.m. on Sunday evening. "After the owner noticed the fire, he first made an emergency call," said the investigators. The 85-year-old then tried to fight or extinguish the fire. He injured himself in the process. He had to be taken to hospital by ambulance.

According to the current state of the investigation, the cause of the fire can be assumed to be the negligent or deliberate introduction of an external ignition source.
