Princess Beatrice is pregnant again

The British royal family is expecting a child: Princess Beatrice, a niece of King Charles III, is pregnant again.

The 36-year-old and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce that they are expecting their second child together in the spring, Buckingham Palace announced. "His Majesty the King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news," the statement said.

Beatrice is the elder daughter of Charles' brother Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson. Beatrice and the 40-year-old already have a daughter together - three-year-old Sienna Elizabeth was also named after the late Queen Elizabeth II - and a son. However, eight-year-old Wolfie comes from a previous relationship with Mapelli Mozzi.

A difficult year
The British royal family has had a difficult year, with both Charles and his daughter-in-law Princess Kate making cancer diagnoses public. Beatrice's mother, Sarah Ferguson, has also been treated for cancer.

The pregnancy is now good news. Two photos of the family were also published to accompany the announcement. Beatrice's younger sister, Princess Eugenie, is also a mother. She gave birth to her second son last year.
