Over 60 percent too heavy: charge for truck driver

The truck driven by a Polish man (36) was significantly heavier than permitted. The man's journey came to an end in Ampass in the Tyrolean district of Innsbruck-Land. It was there that the police took a closer look at him.

It was not only the driver of an animal transporter who was targeted by the police on Monday. The officers also noticed a truck driver who had loaded electrical goods on the A12 in Ampass at around 6.30 pm. The 36-year-old was traveling from Italy to Germany. 

Truck significantly overloaded
"When the vehicle was weighed, the total weight was found to be around 2.1 tons or 61.43 percent overloaded and the axle load of the second axle was found to be 90 kilograms or 34.62 percent overloaded," the investigators calculate.

The Polish driver was banned from continuing his journey and had to pay a fine. The 36-year-old will also be reported to the Innsbruck district authority.
