New stone bridge in Schwaz: work continues

There was a break over the summer due to the water level in the Inn. However, work will soon resume on the new stone bridge in Schwaz. The second half will be built during the low water period. The end of the construction work is scheduled for the end of 2025. Then traffic will be able to move again.

The old stone bridge in the Tyrolean silver town had been "on its hump" for many years. That is why demolition and new construction began last year. The first half of the new bridge is already complete. Now the second half will follow at the beginning of October. The companies can only work over the winter and until spring.

During this time, the Inn is in the so-called low water period. 

Costs ten million euros, 7000 cars per day
The cost of construction is around ten million euros. A temporary bridge was erected for pedestrians and cyclists for the duration of the work. According to those responsible in the silver city, around 7,000 cars pass over the old bridge every day.

If everything goes according to plan, the new stone bridge should be completed by the end of 2025.
