Biker ends up in ditch after accident

There was a serious traffic accident in southern Styria on Sunday afternoon: a motorcyclist was hit by a car during an overtaking maneuver and ended up in a ditch. The car driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The motorcyclist was driving on the South Styrian Border Road (B69) from Leutschach towards Gamlitz on Sunday afternoon. When the 22-year-old wanted to overtake a car in front of him, the driver (50 years old) suddenly turned left. There was a collision, the biker was thrown into the ditch and lay seriously injured. 

The man from Western Styria had to be flown by helicopter to Graz University Hospital. The Hungarian driver tested positive for alcohol.
