Even an autopsy could not clarify the death of the daughter

Following the discovery of three bodies in a house in Perg on Friday, the autopsy confirmed what investigators had previously assumed: An 82-year-old man killed his wife (75) and then himself, each by a shot to the head. The woman's daughter (57) died some time later, the cause of death could not be clarified. According to the autopsy, however, there was no "mechanical influence".

The bodies were discovered because a friend of the family was worried. She and a neighbor called the emergency services, who opened the house.

The autopsy supported what the investigators had already assumed: The murder-suicide incident, which involved a long gun, is believed to have taken place at the end of August. The woman's severely impaired daughter is likely to have lived in the house with the deceased for some time. She died later, according to the autopsy.

Cause of death remains a mystery
The cause of death of the 57-year-old woman could no longer be determined. However, a mechanical effect - i.e. an injury caused by a fall, for example - has been ruled out. While the bodies of her mother and stepfather have been clearly identified, this has not yet been possible in her case.

However, the investigators have no doubts about her identity, the course of events or the fact that no fourth person was involved in the incident.
