Barca new signing Dani Olmo suffered a more serious injury in the league match against FC Girona than initially thought. The Spaniard will now miss four to five weeks for coach Hansi Flick.

It was initially assumed that Olmo would only be out for the Champions League opener against AS Monaco on Thursday. However, examinations revealed that the new signing had suffered a more serious injury and will be out for around five weeks.

The club announced on Monday that the Spaniard had suffered an unspecified injury to his thigh. A major setback for Flick. Olmo had previously played a central role in the German's playing system and proved to be a key player.
