Professional fire department had to respond to scooter fire

The Salzburg professional fire department was called out to an underground garage fire on Monday morning. Six vehicles were called to Nonntal. An electric scooter for disabled people was on fire in an underground garage. The garage was very smoky. The cause of the fire is reportedly a mystery. 

At 9.30 am, the alarm bells rang at the Salzburg professional fire department. What was originally reported as a fire in a cellar compartment turned out to be an underground garage fire. Four vehicles from the professional fire department were deployed with 16 men. Support was provided by the Itzling fire engine, which sent two vehicles and ten men. 

Once on site, the breathing apparatus team had to secure the heavily smoky garage and remove the smoke. The fire itself was quickly extinguished. An electric scooter - specifically a four-wheeled vehicle for people with impaired mobility - had caught fire.

A resident had parked the scooter next to her car. For inexplicable reasons, it started to burn and also damaged the vehicle parked next to it. The fire department left a good two hours later. As the "Krone" learned, the criminal investigation department was already on site to investigate the cause of the fire. No one was injured in the fire. The garage suffered heavy smoke damage.
