E-biker crashes head on into the road: unconscious!

Serious e-bike accident on Friday in Ischgl in Tyrol! A 59-year-old German had to brake hard due to a car reversing, was thrown over the handlebars and hit his head on the road. Although the man was wearing a helmet, he fell unconscious and had to be airlifted to hospital.

At around 12.40 p.m., the German was riding an e-bike on the B188 in the municipality of Ischgl in the direction of the Silvrette parking lot. "At the same time, a 45-year-old Swiss man reversed in his car due to a tight bend," said the police.

Thrown over the handlebars
The e-biker must have overlooked the car and initiated emergency braking. This threw the 59-year-old over the handlebars and he hit his head on the road. "There was no collision with the car," said the police.

Passers-by provided first aid
The German, who was wearing a bicycle helmet, remained unconscious on the road. The driver of the car and other passers-by immediately provided first aid and set the rescue chain in motion. The 59-year-old was flown by rescue helicopter to the hospital in Zams with serious injuries.
