Boy (8) seriously injured in accident with farm loader

An eight-year-old boy from Germany living in Tyrol was seriously injured in an accident with a farmyard loader in Stams (Imst district) in Tyrol on Tuesday afternoon. A shovel loaded with building rubble crashed into the child's foot in front of a house.

The serious accident occurred on Tuesday at around 1.30 pm. "A yard loader with an attached front loader and shovel containing building rubble was standing in front of a house with the front loader shovel resting on the ground but folded up," said the police.

Taken to hospital with injuries
Suddenly, the shovel tipped forward and seriously injured the boy's foot. "After initial treatment at the scene of the accident, the injured man was taken to hospital in Zams," explained the police.
