Cyclist died during a mountain tour on the Bavarian border

There was a rescue operation on Saturday at the Kleiner Deutsches Eck: a cyclist collapsed unconscious in the Sellarnalm area. The Salzburg emergency helicopter "Christophorus 6" was also requested. However, all help came too late for the 56-year-old. 

The man suddenly collapsed on a steep section of the trail from Weißbach on the alpine road to the Sellnaralm on the Ristfeuchthorn. His companion had gone a little way ahead and then returned when the 56-year-old failed to follow. 

Exact location was not clear at first
Due to a poor cell phone connection, it was initially unclear where the two people seeking help were: Therefore, in addition to the Bad Reichenhall and Teisendorf-Anger mountain rescue teams, the Inzell mountain rescue team, the Reichenhall Red Cross and the Salzburg rescue helicopter "Christophorus 6" were also alerted. 

The Reichenhall mountain rescue team finally found the man: there was no more help for the 56-year-old German from Altötting.
