Olympic basketball champion Stephen Curry will continue to play for the Golden State Warriors in the 2026/2027 NBA season. The former champions from San Francisco have announced that the league's best long-range shooter has extended his contract, which was due to expire in two years, for a further season. This will earn him 62.6 million dollars (56.46 million euros).

The 36-year-old is therefore guaranteed a total of around 178 million dollars (160.53 million euros) for the next three seasons. At the end of the 2026/2027 season, Curry will have only collected 532 million dollars (479.80 million euros) in salaries in his career. Only LeBron James, with 580 million dollars (523.09 million euros), has earned more in the history of the North American league.

Curry is entering his 16th season with the Warriors, with whom he has won four championships. He was twice the most valuable player in a season and was nominated for the All-Star Game ten times. His sometimes spectacular three-point shots in the final phase against hosts France won the US team the gold medal in the Olympic final in Paris.
