US Open: “Super suit” attracts all eyes

Japan's Naomi Osaka attracted everyone's attention during her US Open first-round match against Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko. The four-time Grand Slam winner played with a giant bow on her back.

"I think when I put this outfit on, it's almost like a super suit for me," said Osaka. Although she took off the big green bow for the match, her outfit and her excellent play were still an absolute eye-catcher. In the end it was 6:3 and 6:2 from her point of view.

"Being part of my tennis outfit gives me a different kind of power. Especially with the US Open outfits, they're a bit more extravagant. When I got dressed today, I thought: Ah, I hope that's not too much," she grinned. She developed the outfit in collaboration with designer Yoon Ahn.

Now against Muchova
In the second round, she will now face Karolina Muchova from the Czech Republic. It will be interesting to see whether Osaka will make headlines again with her outfit ...
