Exotic pets: No-go or okay?

When you think of pets, cats or dogs come to mind first, closely followed by small animals such as hamsters or rabbits. But in addition to these classic species, there are also exotic species. Reptiles such as turtles, snakes and lizards are very popular. Spiders, exotic birds such as parrots and even monkeys also fall into this category. What do you think about this?

In connection with this, the question of species-appropriate husbandry must be asked: For example, many exotic animals have special needs that cannot always be met in an apartment or house. They may also be taken from the wild, which can have a negative impact on the natural population of the species in question. Last but not least, particularly venomous or dangerous animals such as constrictor snakes pose a risk if they escape or are even released.
