25-year-old died on a mountain tour in South Tyrol

On Friday morning, a 25-year-old had a fatal accident during a mountain tour in the Stubai Alps in South Tyrol. The local was on his way with a colleague from the Signalkopf in the direction of the Rotem Grat.

There he probably tripped and fell around 100 meters down a rock face. The companion made an emergency call, but all help came too late for the young man. He died on the spot.

The Ridnaun/Ratschings mountain rescue team, the mountain rescue team from the Sterzing finance station, the "Pelikan 2" emergency helicopter and the emergency pastoral care team were deployed. The accident occurred in the Wilden Freiger area at the far end of the Ridnaun Valley.
