House completely filled with smoke

Fire alarm in Linz! Shortly after 11 a.m., passers-by in Heindlstraße discovered that thick smoke was billowing out of an apartment in a residential complex. The fire department had to fight their way through the thick smoke before they could enter the premises. 

A fire had broken out in an apartment on the second floor of the residential complex in Heindlstraße for unknown reasons. The Linz fire department was quickly on the scene. However, the heavy smoke made life difficult for the helpers.

Breathing protection necessary
"The inner courtyard of the residential complex was completely filled with smoke due to the prevailing weather conditions. The fire department used one pipe each under breathing protection in the interior attack and in the exterior attack," said the fire department. There was also heavy smoke in the stairwell, which was ventilated using a high-performance fan.

The fire itself was quickly extinguished and the "fire out" signal was given at 11.37 am. There were no people in the apartment.
