Alarm in Salzburg

Fire departments were once again deployed in the storm

No break for Salzburg's fire departments! On Tuesday, the firefighters once again had to deploy to a number of storm operations. The thunderstorms in Flachgau and Tennengau were particularly severe. 

In northern Flachgau, flooded cellars had to be pumped out and fallen trees had to be removed from the roads. In Hallwang, lightning damaged the roof of a house. In St. Koloman, two trees fell onto a road - a car and its two occupants were stranded. And: in Kuchl, a transformer caught fire due to a lightning strike. 

The preliminary results: 28 fire departments deployed a total of 643 men to 78 operations.
