Four-year-old fell into the Danube Canal on his bicycle

On Sunday evening, a four-year-old fell into the Danube Canal on his bicycle in Vienna-Brigittenau. His father immediately jumped in after him and pulled him out of the water in time.

According to the Vienna Professional Rescue Service, the boy was out with his father and went off the path on his bike. "He fell over the embankment into the Danube Canal," said a spokesperson. "Dad immediately jumped in after him and pulled him out." When the rescuers arrived at the scene of the accident, father and son were already back on land.

Bruises on the upper body
The four-year-old was initially treated on the spot. He apparently escaped with bruises to his upper body caused by the fall from the bike. To be on the safe side, the professional rescue team took the child to a clinic for further assessment.
