E-biker falls heavily after avalanche gallery

A terrible leisure accident at the weekend in the Tyrolean Stubai Valley: a French holidaymaker crashed his e-bike on the private road of the glacier lifts and suffered serious injuries. It cannot be ruled out that he was not at fault - the police are now hoping for possible witnesses.

The fatal accident had already occurred on Saturday at around 12.45 pm. According to the police, the 58-year-old Frenchman was heading out of the valley on the private road of the Stubai Glacier lifts when he fell about 50 meters after the "Raffeine" avalanche gallery.

The holidaymaker was left lying on the left-hand side of the road with serious facial injuries. He was first treated by the emergency services and then taken to the hospital in Innsbruck.

According to the current state of the investigation, third-party involvement cannot be ruled out.
