Total loss: Motorcyclist flies out of the bend

A 25-year-old motorcyclist from the district of Schwaz was seriously injured in an accident on the Gerlos Alpenstraße on Friday evening when he left the road in a right-hand bend and crashed. 

His fellow motorcyclists provided first aid and alerted the emergency services. The injured man was taken to Innsbruck University Hospital by emergency helicopter.

The motorcycle is now a total loss. The Krimml fire department was deployed with three vehicles and 20 firefighters.

It is not yet known why the accident occurred.
