Cyclist (15) “shot down” by drunk driver

A fatal traffic accident on Thursday night in the Tyrolean Lech Valley: a 15-year-old cyclist was hit by a car while crossing the road and seriously injured. According to the police, the driver of the car was tested positive for alcohol.

The devastating accident occurred shortly before 1.30 am. According to the police, the 41-year-old local driver was driving on the Lechtalstraße in Elbigenalp in the direction of Grünau. At the same time, the teenager wanted to cross the road on his bicycle.

Rescue to hospital
There was a collision! The 15-year-old fell and suffered serious injuries. After initial treatment at the scene of the accident, he was taken to Reutte District Hospital by ambulance.

The driver's license was confiscated on the spot.
