Austrian Post increased its revenue by 17.2 percent

Austrian Post earned well in the first half of 2024. Revenue increased by 17.2 percent year-on-year to 1.51 billion euros. According to the company, positive effects include elections and the currency situation of the Turkish lira.

Swiss Post operates the parcel delivery company Aras Kargo in Turkey. Once again, business was driven by the parcel and logistics sector, with an increase in turnover of 28.1 to 804.9 million euros. This clearly overtook the Letter Mail and Direct Mail sector (EUR 619 million).

The operating result (EBIT) climbed by 10.9 percent to EUR 105.6 million, while equity amounted to EUR 682 million at the end of June.

"In view of the challenging market environment and inflation-related cost increases, the first half of 2024 was very successful with an increase in revenue and earnings," said outgoing Austrian Post CEO Georg Pölzl. The Styrian will retire at the end of September after 15 years in the top job. The current Chief Financial Officer Walter Oblin will take over on October 1.

For the year as a whole, the partly state-owned Group expects a sales increase in the upper single-digit range.
