Tractor over embankment: passers-by rescue driver

A man from Spittal tipped over an embankment with his tractor on Monday evening. The injured man was freed from the cab by passers-by and taken to hospital by the ambulance service.

The 46-year-old had attached a mulcher to the tractor in order to mulch the horizontal meadow. However, the tractor suddenly tipped to the right near an embankment. A tree caught the implement. 

Passers-by freed the injured driver from the cab and the ambulance took him to hospital.

In the meantime, almost 30 emergency crews from the Spittal fire department recovered the tractor using a cable winch and cleaned up a small amount of leaked engine oil.
