Jolie’s son Pax discharged from intensive care unit

The adopted son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Pax Thien Jolie, has been discharged from intensive care following a serious accident with his e-bike. The 20-year-old is on the road to recovery, but has "suffered a complex trauma" and has a long therapy ahead of him.

Pax Thien Jolie had crashed on his BMX e-bike at the end of July - he had rammed into a stationary vehicle at a jammed intersection when a traffic light turned red, according to reports. Angelina Jolie is said to have been at his side when the 20-year-old was admitted to hospital. The young man was probably not wearing a helmet and sustained a head injury.

The accident victim should now have survived the worst. The US magazine "People" reported, citing an insider, that the young man was able to leave the intensive care unit. He is said to have a "long road to recovery and physiotherapy" ahead of him, the source revealed.

The Hollywood star expressed her "deep gratitude for the quick and life-saving intervention of the first responders and the excellent medical care" her adopted son received. She is still by his side, and his siblings Maddox (22), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18) and the twins Knox and Vivienne (16) have also visited the 20-year-old.
