Xavi Simons and Bayern: Decision is made!

FC Bayern had been trying to sign Xavi Simons on loan for months - but without success. As the German newspaper "Bild" claims to have learned, the Dutchman has turned the Munich club down over the phone. 

According to the report, Simons told sports director Max Eberl and new coach Vincent Kompany on Saturday evening that he did not want to move to the Isar. The PSG professional was loaned out to RB Leipzig last season, scoring ten goals and providing 15 assists for Marco Rose's club. 

Buying not an option
Performances that the German record champions also wanted to claim for themselves - even though a permanent signing was out of the question due to complicated contractual details in favor of Simons' former club PSV. 

Having turned down FC Bayern, the Saxons now have a good chance of keeping the winger on board for another year. After all, Simons feels at home in Leipzig, according to reports, and the 21-year-old is likely to get more minutes in the German Bundesliga than in Paris.
