Investigation underway after fatal cow attack

Following the fatal attack by a cow in which a local woman died, it is now clear that the public prosecutor's office is investigating negligent homicide and assault.

In the attack at the end of June in Bad Hofgastein (Pongau district), a 40-year-old woman died on her birthday in front of her daughters and was trampled to death.

Explosive: the herd belonged to the Salzburg member of parliament and farmer Hans Scharfetter (ÖVP). The public prosecutor's office has now confirmed that an investigation is underway. They are currently waiting for a statement from Scharfetter, who had announced one for this week.
