17-year-old sets fire to kitchen in asylum home

Fire alarm on Saturday afternoon in a refugee shelter in Tyrol! A 17-year-old Syrian forgot to take a pot of hot frying oil off the stove. Floriani firefighters had to be deployed. Fortunately, no one was injured.

At around 4.20 p.m., the unaccompanied minor Syrian wanted to fry chips in the kitchen on the second floor of the refugee accommodation in Mils bei Hall. "When leaving the kitchen, the 17-year-old forgot the pot with the oil on the stove," said the police.

Residents escaped with a scare
The frying fat caught fire. The Mils and Hall volunteer fire departments were able to extinguish the kitchen fire quickly. "No people were injured," emphasized the police.
