Woman never returned from mushroom picking

An 84-year-old man from Villach searched desperately for his girlfriend on the Simonhöhe - but in vain. A large-scale search operation had to be launched. 

The couple and another companion had probably imagined this trip to the Simonhöhe in Feldkirchen differently. The man from Villach, an 89-year-old woman and another friend went mushroom hunting there and agreed to meet back at the car at around 10 a.m. on Thursday. 

But because the 89-year-old woman did not return to the meeting point, the man started his search. After three hours, he gave up and immediately alerted the Villach police. A large-scale search operation was then launched using a helicopter, dogs, a drone pilot and emergency services. 

But there was no trace of the woman from Villach. Until 8 pm. That evening, a man from Steuerberg found her unharmed but completely exhausted in front of his house. He immediately informed the Feldkirchen police.
