Cards and letters from Diana to be auctioned

An auction house in England wants to auction off several cards and letters with handwritten notes from Princess Diana. The documents were once sent to the former housekeeper of Diana's family, according to the British news agency PA. She was Diana's parents' head housekeeper at Park House in Sandringham, where Diana spent several years of her childhood.

The auction house Sworders plans to auction the documents next Tuesday. Most of the messages to "Collie", as Diana called her, were thank-you notes for birthday and Christmas presents, PA reported. They often included short notes about her life.

Personal notes
In one letter, Diana thanked her younger son Prince Harry for a gift. "William adores his little brother and spends all his time showering Harry with endless hugs and kisses."

Princess Diana was the first wife of the current King Charles III. A letter is dated July 8, 1981, three weeks before the wedding. Everyone was incredibly busy with the final decorations and the bride remained relatively calm, according to the letter, which was written on Buckingham Palace stationery. The couple later separated. Diana died in a car accident in Paris in 1997.
