E-biker (84) died weeks after a serious fall

Sad news from the Tyrolean lowlands: an 84-year-old local man who had a serious fall on his e-bike in Brixen im Thale (Kitzbühel district) around a month ago has now succumbed to his injuries in hospital.

The fatal accident occurred on June 21. The pensioner was riding his city e-bike from the village center towards Westendorf shortly before noon when he lost his shield cap due to the wind and braked his bike heavily.

"This caused the e-bike to roll over, the 84-year-old fell forward over the handlebars and crashed to the ground. He suffered serious head injuries as a result of the impact," said the police at the time.

Injuries too severe
Witnesses immediately raised the alarm and provided first aid. After first aid, the senior citizen was flown to hospital in St. Johann in Tirol by emergency helicopter. On Thursday, the police reported that the man had succumbed to his serious injuries.
