Car crashes into densely overgrown botany

A huge scare for a mother (58) and her daughter (17) on Tuesday afternoon in Tyrol: for unknown reasons, the duo left the road in their car on the Zillertal main road just before the Brettfall tunnel in Schlitters and crashed into the bushes. Both were able to free themselves from the car. The fire department first had to clear the accident site before the wreck could be recovered.

At around 3.40 p.m., the 58-year-old woman was driving her car from Schlitters along the B169 towards Inntal. Her 17-year-old daughter was sitting in the passenger seat.

Passengers remained uninjured
"For unknown reasons, the driver drove off the right-hand edge of the road and the vehicle collided with a road sign," said the police. It then skidded along the guardrail, was thrown through the guardrail into the adjacent ditch and came to a standstill on its wheels. The two occupants were uninjured in the accident.

Tunnel had to be closed
The car was secured by the Schlitters volunteer fire department and recovered by a towing company. The Brettfall Tunnel was closed during the accident investigation and recovery work. "The closure caused traffic obstructions and congestion," said the executive.
