Man shot after knife attack on police officer

According to police sources, a man attacked a police officer with a knife in Paris on Thursday evening and was subsequently shot by another officer.

The man, who suffered a life-threatening injury, had previously been turned away from a nearby Louis Vuitton luxury brand store, which had called the police.

"When he saw the police, the man fled with a knife in his hand and injured a police officer in the ear when he turned around," stated another police source, without giving further details of the police officer's injury. Another officer then shot the fleeing man.
