Another truck with around 700 pigs crammed into it was stopped in Tyrol. The Polish transporter was traveling on the main road near Radfeld (Kufstein district) on Saturday morning because the driver (35) apparently wanted to avoid the checkpoint on the Inntal freeway. The fire department was called out to supply the thirsty animals with water.

At around 9 a.m., officers from Kundl police station noticed a livestock truck loaded with exactly 697 piglets, which was traveling on the B171 despite a driving ban. "The truck was directed to the Radfeld checkpoint, where an inspection was carried out. It was found to have exceeded the maximum permissible total weight," said the police.

Water tanks were filled
According to the officials, there was no violation of the Animal Transportation Act. During the inspection, the Kramsach fire department was called to fill the drinking water tank for the transported animals.

Journey towards Italy continued
After a security deposit was collected, the 35-year-old Polish driver of the truck was able to continue his journey towards Italy. Reports to the Kufstein district authority will follow.
