After mudslides: affected roads partially open again

After the storms with heavy rainfall in Tyrol on Thursday evening, some of the roads affected by the mudslides were reopened on Saturday morning. For example, the Reschenstraße (B180) between Pfunds and Ried im Oberinntal was reopened to traffic, as was the Villgratentalstraße. The Oberinntalstraße (L65) remained closed.

As reported, the Oberinntalstraße was flooded and impassable in the area between the Pfunds and Tösens crossroads. The municipalities of Pfunds, Spiss and Nauders as well as the Reschen Pass remained inaccessible from the Inn Valley for the time being. Even on Saturday morning, it was still only possible to bypass the closures on a large scale via South Tyrol or Switzerland.

The Villgratental road (L273) was closed in both directions for the time being, making the communities of Inner- and Außervillgraten inaccessible for the time being. The reason was a mudslide at the entrance to the valley. The clean-up work progressed faster than planned, which meant that the road could be reopened to traffic at around 11pm on Friday evening.

The Hahntennjoch road between Imst and the Hahntennjoch was also closed due to flooding. However, the closure was lifted again on Friday morning.
