Rockfall displaces Silvretta High Alpine Road

The Silvretta road, which is so popular with day-trippers, will probably have to be closed until the beginning of next week after a massive rockfall between Partenen and the Bielerhöhe. 

On Friday morning, a rockfall occurred in the area of hairpin bend 14. Fortunately, there were no vehicles on the road at the time, so there were no injuries. However, the road was considerably affected.

Due to the predicted rainfall, the clean-up and repair work is proving difficult and the area still needs to be geologically investigated. The road between Partenen and the Bielerhöhe will therefore remain closed until at least the beginning of next week. For this reason, a street food market planned for the weekend has also been spontaneously relocated to Latschau (Golmerbahn middle station).

The Bielerhöhe can be reached as usual from the Tyrolean side.
