Brazen pickpockets struck in the parking lot

Two pickpockets engaged their helpful victim in a conversation in the parking lot of a store in Feistritz an der Drau, cut open his bag unnoticed and snatched his wallet.

It all started with a harmless request: The two unknown perpetrators approached the 44-year-old man from the Villach Land district in the parking lot of a store - and politely asked him if he could change a five-euro bill into small change. The man willingly pulled out his wallet without suspecting any evil.

After handing over the change to the two women, he put the wallet back in his pocket. But that was not all - one of the perpetrators engaged the 44-year-old in further conversation and asked him for directions. In the course of this, the second perpetrator cut open the bag and grabbed the wallet.

Duo took flight
The duo did this so skillfully that the victim only noticed the theft later in the store. A search by the police, who were immediately alerted by the 44-year-old, has so far been unsuccessful. The loss amounts to a four-figure sum.
