Scooter rider remains unconscious after a fall

A 63-year-old man from Wels was probably under the influence of alcohol when he crashed his e-scooter in his home town. Witnesses also noticed his risky driving style - he will be charged.

On Friday evening, witnesses noticed a 63-year-old man driving his e-scooter on Zeileisstraße in Wels. The local resident is said to have entered the junction with Salzburger Straße without stopping and at high speed.

Briefly unconscious
He touched the edge of a sidewalk, fell and remained unconscious for a short time. When police officers arrived at the scene of the accident, they immediately noticed a strong smell of alcohol. The 63-year-old refused to take a breathalyzer test.

After first aid, he was taken to hospital in Wels.
