Kaider cycles around Poland for the World Championship title

Philipp Kaider covered between 15,000 and 20,000 kilometers on his bike in preparation for the Ultracycling World Championships. Including the Race Around Lower Austria, which the Wolkersdorf native has already won this year. From Saturday, he will be cycling around Poland, covering a total of 3600 kilometers - with an important "deadline" in mind.

"My plane takes off for my vacation at 6 a.m. on 15 July in Schwechat - that's the deadline," laughs Kaider. Otherwise, the intensive care nurse doesn't like to put any pressure on himself. "My plan is to look after myself and finish without any problems. Then I'm usually fast anyway."

Nevertheless, six days in the saddle await him. He has tried to alleviate the neck problems of recent years with a less aggressive riding position. In the race, everything has to be right: "It's important to get any problems that arise under control quickly and to keep the standing times short and efficient."

This has already led him to the title at the 2022 24-hour World Championship, and now he is once again one of the favorites.
