Lara Flynn Boyle opens up about her love for Nicholson

Her romance with Jack Nicholson, over three decades her senior, caused quite a stir and made gossip headlines in the 90s. More than 20 years after their relationship ended, Lara Flynn Boyle is now speaking publicly for the first time about her fling with the Hollywood legend.

Boyle and Nicholson's rollercoaster liaison began in 1991 and had several long interruptions. The relationship finally ended in 2006 when the "Twin Peaks" beauty tied the knot with Texas real estate investor Donald Ray Thomas.

"Seven wonderful years"
In a new interview with "People" magazine, the now 54-year-old revealed: "I'm still in touch with Jack", - even though she hasn't seen him for years. Today, she raves about her relationship at the time that it was "seven wonderful years - just great times".

Although Nicholson hasn't made a movie in 14 years, Boyle insists that he hasn't retired for good. "Jack's world is always there. There's no retirement in his world - ever!"

Hooked up in front of Nicholson's boyfriend?
Boyle also dispelled a long-standing rumor that Nicholson had simply hooked up with her in front of her boyfriend at the time, David Spade. The movie comedian had publicly claimed this himself in 2015 and didn't even protest "because I'd been in town long enough to know when I was going to get the short end of the stick".

Boyle can only laugh at this version of events: "It never happened like that! I think some people love to exaggerate to make themselves more important."
