Copa America:

0:0 against Mexico is enough for Ecuador to reach the quarter-finals

Ecuador have become the second soccer team alongside Venezuela to qualify for the quarter-finals of Group B at the Copa America. After a 0-0 draw against Mexico in Glendale on Sunday, the Ecuadorians remained level on points with their rivals thanks to their superior goal difference. 

Defending champions Argentina await as the next hurdle. Should they pull off a sensation, it would be Ecuador's first semi-final appearance since 1993. Venezuela remained unblemished with a 3-0 win over Jamaica.

Pool B winners Canada now await. Mexico were awarded a penalty in the seventh minute of stoppage time, but after a VAR review it was withdrawn.
