Deaths in Russian attacks in the south and east

At least eleven people have been killed in Russian attacks in the south and east of Ukraine. In the city of Kharkiv, an airstrike claimed at least one life and eight other people, including an eight-month-old baby, were seriously injured. In Vilnyansk in the Zaporizhzhya region, at least seven people were killed in an attack. A further eleven people, including three children, were seriously injured.

According to official reports, four people were killed in attacks on villages near the eastern front in the Donetsk region. In the village of Saritschne in the Donetsk region, "the Russians killed three people", wrote Governor Vadym Filashkin in online services.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General later announced that another person had "suffered fatal injuries" in the frontline village of New York. New York has been repeatedly attacked since mid-June as part of Russia's efforts to capture the city of Torezk.

Ukrainian village captured
The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously reported the capture of another village in eastern Ukraine. The Russian armed forces had captured the settlement of Shumi in the Donetsk region and thus improved their "tactical position", the ministry stated. 

Several children killed
According to Russian reports, five people, including two children, were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack in the Russian border region of Kursk. The drone struck a house in the small village of Gorodishche.

Towns under fire
A four-year-old girl was also allegedly killed in a car during a Ukrainian drone attack on Belgorod on Sunday. The girl was in a car that had been attacked near the Ukrainian border. Some of the child's parents and grandparents were seriously injured. According to Gladkov, Ukrainian forces also fired on three towns in the region.
