Literature prize for pupils: submissions open

The Ortwein Prize for Literature aims to promote writing talent in Styrian classrooms and bring it to the fore. Submissions for the second edition of the highly professionally organized competition start on 1 July.

There were over 650 submissions last year, and now the Ortwein Prize for Literature is entering its second round: Styrian pupils in grades nine to 13 have until October 12 to submit texts on the topic "The future remains". They may be a maximum of 4000 characters long, the literary form is freely selectable.

A 13-member jury of experts from the industry will then decide who will receive the prize of 500 euros. The award ceremony will take place on December 3.

In 2023, first place in the Ortwein Prize went to "In liebevoller Erinnerung" by Jasmin Fuchs from Hart bei Graz.
