Transfer fixed! Austria sign striker Malone

Former WAC player Maurice Malone is moving to Vienna Austria for the new season according to information from "Krone"! The 23-year-old center forward comes on loan from FC Basel. The Violets have also secured a purchase option.

Vienna Austria have a new striker on board with Maurice Malone! The 23-year-old, who holds both German and US citizenship, has been scoring goals for Basel since August 2023. However, Malone only made 16 appearances in the Swiss Super League, in which he scored three goals.

Austria is not new territory for Malone, who played twice for Germany's U21 team. He played for the WAC for just under a year until June 2023 before moving to Augsburg. Malone scored nine goals in 29 games for the Wolves. The centre-forward should have come to Favoriten back in February. "He would have been a very interesting player, but unfortunately we couldn't come to a financial agreement with Basel," sporting director Manuel Ortlechner told Die Krone at the time.

Now he is returning to the Bundesliga and will be hunting goals for Violett.
