Crash with service motorcycle: police officer (45) died

All help came too late for him! For reasons as yet unexplained, a police officer (45) drove off the Hochkönig federal highway (B164) in Salzburg on his service motorcycle on Thursday afternoon and lost his life.

The 45-year-old was thrown from his vehicle in the tragic accident. Attentive passers-by immediately alerted the emergency services, but all resuscitation measures taken by the emergency services were unsuccessful: he did not survive the accident.

No evidence of third-party fault
Investigators are currently looking into the exact circumstances of the accident. According to the Salzburg police, however, there are no indications of third-party fault.
